MUSIC

HAPPY CHRISTMAS TO ME!

The best music I want to listen now is from the new album of my favourite singer Sufjan Stevens.

So, this is
SILVER & GOLD

"Any Christmas compilation that reconfigures Prince's Alphabet St as a song of seasonal hope in a cruel, commercialised world is clearly the work of a subversive genius. Sufjan Stevens' second outrageously profligate anthology – picking up from his comparatively restrained 42-song collection from 2006/7 – is laced with such frissons. He transforms Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow! into a chilling duet for ghosts, and delivers I'll Be Home for Christmas as though under anaesthetic. Jingle Bells and We Wish You a Merry Christmas become lurching psychedelic jams, and Do You Hear What I Hear? a nine-minute drum'n'bass glitch-soul epic. In between is an earnest archive of English, German and American hymns, some sumptuous folk-orchestra collaborations with the National's Dessner brothers, and, in Christmas Unicorn, a distressingly melodic, profoundly odd hymn of solidarity with outsiders everywhere. So much, in other words, that wading through it feels as much of a chore as a joy. Much like the season itself." from The Guardian UK

MY FAVOURITE SINGERS IN A BLACK CABIN? Oh yes!
Black Cab Sessions

The Black Cab Sessions is a series of one-song performances by musicians and poets recorded in the back of a black cab and filmed for an internet audience. A black cab is a type of hackney carriage (taxicab, An Austin FX4 or a Metrocab) common to Britain. The sessions are recorded while the black cab that serves as the studio travels through city streets, usually in London, England. Lucky taxi drivers!

Every time I listen to a Richard young acoustic live concert I feel quiet with myself...
Last night they sang together / silence / aroma of mulled wine in the old spinning mill / * a little mood of Christmas * I meditated and dreamed with open eyes, I invented sweetness projects, paint pictures, I saw colors fade into a frame when I listened to their /

I love these moments of concentration and music, calm and emotion, my mind runs away and I find myself even in a room full of people.

  -november 2011-

Last night I was at the concert of Azita. She has a very deep voice, and she was drinking good wine between the songs, she was very nice when tried to speak italian. She remember me Cat Power for the look and Joans Police Woman for the sensuality of sound. She play piano like an angel, touching it with her fingers. This is a stolen movies I've filmed during her performance. I still have the chills...

august 2011

Gentle, relaxed and full of grace, this new album is a lyrical flowing river without delay and uncertainty, with sudden bursts of joy. I waited so long this album, expected some time in the winter, a cup of hot chocolate on the couch, the warmth of a fire in the background and Bonnie...

This Summer I listen everyday
NOAH AND THE WALE NEW ALBUM The Noah and The Whale have returned in better shape than before! The new album is bright and fun, I still listen to it and never stopped singing ...
this is my favourite song -------------------------------- THIS IS MY SUMMER PLAYLIST :-)  Enjoy it! Miss Milky Music Playlist at MixPod.com Last Night On Earth - Noah and the Whale Mercury This is my favorite band's third album: Noah and the whale. They continue to convince me... "Last Night On Earth" comes after "First Days of Spring". It 'a pleasant drive, They will find a place in an airplay not directly related to the indie world, but with the usual melancholic vein of American songwriting. I love to swim into melancholy music, and I like this album because it is the next step after you fall and rise again, even with some small error.

Cascadeur -The Human Octopus

I am madly in love with his music. He always sings with an helmet and overalls stunts. An amazing voice comes mysteriously from his mask and leaves us breathless. Dense and pure emotion that flows in the keys of his piano, I want to hear him sing live...

Brand New Album * 2011_gen
She is ANNA CALVI
Growing up with her music obsessed Italian father, Anna was exposed to an eclectic array of sounds which ranged from Captain Beefheart to The Stones, to Maria Callas, combined with an early understanding of classical music developed through childhood violin lessons. She would come to identify the work of 20th century composers, Messiaen, Ravel, and Debussy as an influence, attracted in her words “to the impressionistic element of the music”, the feel of which she would try to recreate on guitar, an instrument she was compelled to learn on discovering Django Reinhardt and Jimi Hendrix at the age of 13. Combining all these influences she aimed to make her guitar sound like an orchestra, but only instinctually; “I don’t try and achieve this by using lots of pedals- My Vox amp, a reverb pedal, and then’… she puts her hand somewhere between heart and gut… ‘it comes from here.” www.annacalvi.com
