MIELE - Valeria Golino

summer night's breeze

The surface of streams
The fingers of trees
The sweet harmonies
The breeze and its lovers
Its hard to believe the wind
When it touches me
Isn't just the way that I long to touch you

The delicate petals
And all of the metals
The old and the hopeless
The young and inspired
The best and the worst times
The breeze is invited
That's just the way that I long to touch you...

MURMURATION of STARLING FLOCK

Filmed in Ireland, on the River Shannon, and posted at Vimeo, where it has garnered over 700 comments. The video is particularly nice for the combination of the aerobatics, the music chosen to replace wind sounds, and the steady hand of the young woman filming from a canoe! I love the simply and beauty of this movie...

Mathematical analysis of flock dynamics show how each starling’s movement is influenced by every other starling, and vice versa. It doesn’t matter how large a flock is, or if two birds are on opposite sides. It’s as if every individual is connected to the same network.
That phenomenon is known as scale-free correlation, and transcends biology. The closest fit to equations describing starling flock patterns come from the literature of “criticality,” of crystal formation and avalanches — systems poised on the brink, capable of near-instantaneous transformation. three days to Christmas #

Today, a friend of mine asked me what was the best moment of this 2011. I told him that the more precious moments of this year have been events and weddings of my friends. My close friends. Rarely we met us and every meeting is special and funny. I love them, everyone. It's nice to see them growing up and building family...But. I was forgot the special guest of this year: Grandmother Elvira! She's 100 years old and she's always so pleasant! Thank you Elvira rosa for everything :-)
